Information about the Lebanon Middle School Project: · The present Junior High is small, educationally inadequate and has fire and life safety issues. · The State Building Aid of 30 to 40% has been promised since the voters approved the building project before June 2010. · This building project will save an estimated $2.2 million in cost avoidance's for maintenance of old buildings. · This energy efficient Middle School will save an estimated $32,000 per year in operating costs. · The Lebanon Conservation Commission has given their support on the development of a new school on the Route 4 site. · Based on today’s property values in the City of Lebanon, the cost per month to the Lebanon taxpayer would be as low as $4 per week (properties valued at $200,000), up to $9 per week (properties valued at $400,000)depending on your assessed property values. · The middle school is a step towards the District’s long-range plans. Public Opportunities to ask questions: Finance and Facilities Committee holds public meetings at the SAU conf. room once per week that are open to the public. At these meetings they work to refine costs, discuss merits and review action items. LMS Building Committee hold meetings at Sacred Heart School, Rm 1 once weekly. The Lebanon School Board meets two Wednesdays a month at 7pm. The location rotates between Mount Lebanon School and Hanover Street School.
